on-point 0
i have come across two types of leach fly pattern - both in america and both pretty simple to tie. the first was an "egg sucking leach" pattern in alaska that we were catching big river rainbows on. such goog fun and the fly is essentially just a long shank eye down #12 with a red plastic ball at the front followed by any streamy hackle of about an inch. the second was again in canada but on a king salmon river and also went under the name of a skagit minnow. this is th one that i think you are talking about as it has an articulated shank and trailing hook. bit more difficult but still possible - must be as even i managed to knock a few half decent looking ones out and i have fingers like spades. your best bet it to look for and online guide or just check out the on line catalogues of the big stores and then try to find the same thing cheaper somewhere else- standard practice. hope that is of some minor help, O-P Quote Link to post
